The Beginning (1)

Back to the Beginning……

How I got where I am today. Let’s go back….. In order for you to understand what I had to go through, we need to go back real far. Back when I was 10 I had to have a tonsilectomy, you are probably asking what that has to do with getting guardianship of my grandaughter, but you will soon find out. Back to when I was 10. I went in for surgery on December 21st, 1978, it should have been a “simple” surgery, however it was anything but that. Apparently, during surgery I started to bleed heavily, not just bleed, hemorrhage. In the middle of my surgery, a specialist had to be flown in from Minnesota to help with the bleeding. They stopped the bleeding by “packing” my nose with cotton and a balloon, they also had to give me blood transfusions. My parents were told I nearly bled to death. I was in the hospital for 5 days and made a full recovery. I didn’t realize until years later how close I actually came to dying. I feel very blessed to be alive today. This was just my first “brush with death”.

My next post will be a snipit of my 2nd brush with death and why I thought I may never even have children or grandchildren…….coming August 5th.

Healthy Snack – Take a gogurt or yogart in the tube and put it in the freezer. Makes a refreshing healthy snack the kids will love.
